Autel Robotics Announces Rugged Bundle, Extends Part 107 Promotion for Commercial Drone Pilots


Autel Robotics introduced its new X‑Star Premium Rugged Bundle today at the National Association of Realtors Conference and Expo. The company also announced today that its You Pass, We Pay promotion for commercial drone pilots will be extended through March 31, 2017.

The Rugged Bundle will be a complete package for professional drone pilots. The bundle will include the X‑Star Premium aircraft and controller, a total of four batteries, and a weatherproof, hard case with wheels.

“The new Rugged Bundle will be a very convenient solution for the most demanding applications, and it really showcases the durability and professional potential of the X‑Star Premium,” Autel Robotics CEO Steve McIrvin said. “Carrying the gear for an all-day flying session can be a challenge, so the convenience and portability of this new package will be extremely helpful for anyone serious about operating for extended periods or in extreme environments.”

This bundle will be a qualifying purchase for Autel Robotics’ extended You Pass, We Pay program, where the company is offering a $150 rebate to its customers who pass the Federal Aviation Administration’s aeronautical knowledge test to become a commercial drone pilot. The rebate effectively covers the cost of the knowledge test, which the FAA introduced this summer, as a key component to becoming a certified drone operator under Part 107 regulations.

“We are thrilled with the response so far from our customers who’ve taken the Part 107 test using our You Pass, We Pay promotion,” McIrvin said. “It’s been a great way to introduce our pilots to the opportunities for commercial use of their drones, and we’re excited to extend this vital program.”

The You Pass, We Pay program was originally set to end on Nov. 30, 2016.

The Rugged Bundle will be available for sale by the end of November. Pricing and additional details to come.
